feed back on my pond - I can take it

so there is a law in my county that states something like if you have a man made structure body of water more than 3 foot in depth, it's considered a pool and must have a locking fence / barrier around it. There is no actual verbage on ponds but the clerk told me that the pool laws apply.

After I was finished with the pond, I had to buy a PVC type fence to put around it. Its the cheapest and easiest way that I could accommodate the law but does it look like I compromised the entire project with the fence? I like it but was wondering if I could get some feed back from the forum.

Any input is welcome.
