It's very tempting, but I am in a good mood, and I don't think I'll even 'go there' on that site. LOL.

I don't watch television with any regularity, but when I do half of the time "I don't get it" with the majority of the programming. It panders to an unhealthy mind, and I'm not talking about any particular respect....it all respects. Some of the reality shows, I wonder if people really do live like that, or are putting on an act for the camera. It's like voyeurism of the worst kind.

You got it!! I keep telling myself that things like the reality shows are just beyond me because I am an old fuddy duddy. What gets me is that there seems to be a complete lack of self respect in some instances. I'd like to pry open a few brains and see what's making them tick.

I would be willing to bet there is not a whole lot making them tick! I do watch television but don't really get in to those reality shows, pretty boring to me, but there are lots of people that do watch, that is why so many are out there.
I am sick of the political stuff and there is another week and another convention and then months of negative ads and probably annoying phone calls, don't get me started on those!
I did not click on the link, don't need anymore weirdness in my life right now! LOL!!!

This is precisely why I've hung around here for the past 12 years. I've got enough contact with nastiness in real life. I don't need more of it in my spare time surfing the web.

Thanks, Aggie. People are amazing aren't they? I am always amazed when I find a group of people who live and think in such a different way than I do. The human condition is a constant source of interest to me.

Perhaps I should have explained that the site also has many very worthwhile sites too, such as investing, hints on gardening, moving, parenting,etc. Very similar to the scope of those forums found here on the Garden Web site.

I even read the ones on Politics or Religion....which goes to show that I might have too much time on my hands. I am curious about a lot of things, including how other people form their individual opinions. In fact, the only kind of site that I DON'T and WON'T visit are the porn sites, but I confess I am curious as to what they are.

In fact, I am guessing that there are sites here on the GW Home section that have the same kind of off the wall characters.

I am always amazed at the things that some think important. Where else could I find such vital information such as "how old should a woman be to stop wearing her hair long?" or "how old should a woman be to stop buying her clothes in the Junior Deptment?" I simply cannot imagine wondering about such questions.

Of for pity's sake, not wanting to 'go there' doesn't mean anybody is putting down Agnes, or not curious about the human condition. Nor does it mean you have a closed mind. If you've been on the inet for more than a decade, you have a reasonable inkling what you'll find. If you have time for it, and a taste for the wierd, then why not? It simply means there are times you are not in the mood for the troll bait you know is waiting, or have had your share of the oddities of the human condition at the moment.

Okay, I clicked on the link today.......better frame of mind I guess. Wow! there are a lot of different discussions going on over there, on a wide variety of subjects. Now I have to confess that I did not click on all of them but am planning on going back and "lurking".

Not that I don't occasionally visit a few wild sites myself, Linda. I used to lurk at the wedding forum, and it usually had me in stitches. But, sometimes one just gets up to their neck in weirdness and it's been pretty weird lately in real life. Like I needed anymore of it when I put my butt on a chair. I'm sure it's a doozer, Agnespuffin. How old should a woman be when she stops wearing her hair long? Mine is halfway down my back again, since I whacked it last and donated it for children's wigs. How long should a woman shop in the junior department? Wow, as long as she has a figure where she can! Good on her.

Well now, all this fuss got me curious. So I clicked on the link and found there were numerous categories. I never did make it to the one that apparently stirred up the original comments. But I *did* find an interesting forum (with a multitude of topics) related to my geographic area. In fact, it's just the kind of active forum I've been looking for!

In the spirit of that other thread I never found...it's been a long time since we discussed the pros and cons of removing one's shoes when in someone else's home. Anyone care to start a thread on that??? hee ;o)

True story coming up about removing shoes.

once upon a time, I attended a university that had a reputation for rain, rain, rain. Dances were held in a new gym that had a unpaved parking lot. It always seemed to rain hard the day of the dance and the parking lot was a mass of muddy clay that tooks weeks to dry.

The girls would get all dressed up in their evening gowns, (crinolines were popular then) and then put on their rain boots. Upon arrival at the gym, the date's duty was to hold the car door open, help the girl gather up her skirt out of the mud (not an easy job with all that frothy crinoline) and carry the good shoes. Once she got in, the muddy boots were lined up against the wall with all the others. And the good shoes donned. Quite a sight! Everyone arrived with her skirts wadded up and ballooning around her knees or higher. Not a graceful entrance, but, hey! everyone was in the same fix.

At the end of the evening, it took a while until everyone got her correct boot. (We learned early to write our names on the inside in big letters.) The date then had to help her put the boots back on, rearrange the skirt and get her back into the car without anyone slipping on the wet clay goo. (Red clay stain does not come out of green taffeta. I know!)

There are endless threads at the GW "Entertaining" forum about shoes on or off, if anyone misses them. I'm sure most of them are started by someone with a foot fetish.
