Well, it is definitely an orange-eyed Buddleja (aka - B. davidii)...that we can know for certain. As for a specific cultivar, it would be next to impossible to be exact...it is even possible that this one was grown from seed (cross pollination or dilution). There are also other things to consider...the best color is not right now....would have been a few weeks ago...might get better later on. Yours looks washed out.... When attempting to identify, look for flower (raceme) shape to narrow it down... The following site shows a great example of the many different types of raceme growth habits.... Eric, thanks very much. I got it at Mounts in West Palm Beach so I thought it would grow here in Delray. I've moved it a couple of times since I wasn't sure what it was. Do you know if it needs full sun? Right now it gets sun in the morning until about noon, then shady/sun..

fata, the area the plant is found in is wild (not cultivated). I believe it is likely a native. If it is not native, it is going to be something that is invasive and aggressive, because it is growing at the edge of a new clearing (cleared last year) among pines, dogwood, some hardwoods, wild grape, Am. beautyberry, Vaccinium sp., smilax, etc. You may be right about the pithy stem. It's definitely not a Sambucus.

'Stellar Pink'?, 'Summer Beauty'? I googled ' buy pink butterfly bush' and those 2 were the only pink cultivars that weren't dwarf selections. These are upright growers, another pink cultivar Grand Cascade has a more weeping habit.
