PLANTING IDEASGreat Garden Combo: A Fall Landscape Scene That Lasts
Span the seasons with trees, shrubs and grasses that offer color and texture in abundance
Full StoryThis plant has done very well for me over several months. Recently, small necrotic blotches surrounded w/yellow appeared towards the tip of one leaf. I cut back to what seemed healthy tissue, allowing a little extra and did the cinnamon dust thing on the cut edges. Then within three or four days, this uniform browning began from the cut edge back. So, this morning I cut the leaf back more and sprayed the entire plant with Thiomyl - a systemic fungicide that has worked well in the past on other plants.
Noticed from the glare in the second picture (esp. top leaf on the left) that the plant seems a little dehydrated. Maybe this is the cause of the uniform browning back from a cut edge.
If any experienced, long-term paph growers have had this problem, I'd appreciate a tip.
P.S. It's potted in bark w/sphagnum top-dress.
Thanks!
