Most forums seem to get more traffic in the off season for the US.

yes posting have fallen very noticably well especially in this forum, but it is the same with lots of others some no activity at all. so more than a seasonal problem but lips are seeled.

I lost interest in gardening this year so have nothing inspired to contribute. Despite my lack of interest, everything is growing well. I just finished begging a neighbor to take tomatoes so I don't have to worry about preseving any. Had the first moussaka with my eggplants wIt was fantastic. Some of the potatoes are growing seed pods this year, which I've never seen before. I'll be collecting and planting those in the future. The flowers are great. If a severe storm with large hail blew through and ruined all of the plants, I'd be delighted to haul them to the compost and finish the season early.

Some may be discovering it late, as is the case with me. This is my first year gardening, and I'm doing my best to go completely organic. I have been given lots of plants and have purchased a few. Right now, I have some boxwoods, crepe myrtles, nandinas, some grasses, purple hearts, daylilies, tiger lilies, and basil, rosemary, and lavender in pots.

I have terrible soil and have been building raised beds - which is time consuming, and between work and life demands, leaves me little time for just surfing the web. I've mostly been gathering information, and this forum has answered many questions for me. It's been great, and I appreciate everyone's input and feedback! It has certainly kept me on track in my efforts and help make it a great experience.

i noticed since summer, alot of the forums have kinda died off. but i think once the weather and the harvest then things will get back into full swing again. :') which will be nice!! and vacations are over!! LOL ~Medo

For me, I'm still new to some of the fine details that go into organic gardening. Therefore, some of the questions or ideas people post are beyond me. I also can't afford to install some of the more high-tech systems discussed, such as grey water systems. In fact, I have even splurged on a rain barrel yet and instead use "rain buckets."

Forums have cycles. Or perhaps life-spans. This forum has been nearly dead for quite a while. SOE used to be rollicking, now it's just about done for - most of the participants are at hot topics, which is itself rather stuck but is still fairly active.

The majority of GW forums are very inactive. Clearly there are too many micro-divisions. Organic gardening ought to be combined with veggie gardening which would enliven both. Then splitting that result into newbie and advanced might be good.

The veggie gardening people (some of them) get all huffy when we point out that they're poisoning the environment :-), and counter that we have our own forum and why don't we just go over there.

That's what I mean by "enliven", Alfie.

Oh! Well, in that case. I didn't realize that what you had in mind was a Vegetables Hot Topics forum.
