Light purple flowers, dark purple foilage, 3-leaves single stem

Just received a handful of flowers from a plant she has had forever though she does not remember what it is. She said it is a perennial, though it bares from an interesting set of seeds. She said she originally threw it out (when she first got it) because it looked like it died but grew back in the ground the next season. She replanted them into a big pot and has kept them ever since. The location is Jackson, MS.

The leaves and flowers are on separate plants. Foilage is a dark purple variation, three leaves per stem. Flowers (light purple/lavender) are smaller and can have multiple per stem.

Seeds look like some type of nut and can be singles or chained together. The plant does not seem to have much of a 'root system' and some even seem to be half-way in the 'nut seed'. Multiple stems can be rooted in the seed shell.
