Name That Plant!

Flowering shrub ID please

I'm new to the site, and have one last shrub on my property that I need to ID. Flowers are 2 toned pink which are in bloom now, as you can see in my photo. It's a rather large upright shrub. The flowers are followed by red berries that look similar to currants, during the summer months and birds love them. This was my grandmother's property, so it is an old variety probably planted pre-1980.

NO! Do not do a rejuvenation to any Viburnum!! Michael Dirr, who wrote the book on them and who has developed many of them, recommends infrequent and light pruning of Viburnums, if any at all. This is my favorite shrub. I have at least two dozen and about 8 different cultivars. I believe the one you have is a Burkwood, but it could also be Judd. Either way, it's gorgeous, pretty much pest- and maintence free, and you should definitely NOT coppice it. You do that to a Rose of Sharon or a lilac, but never to a Viburnum. I have Viburnum carlesii blooming right now in my yard and its scent is absolutely intoxicating. Reminds me of classic carnation flower scent. The common name is Korean Spice Viburnum. Today with no wind I could smell it from about 30 feet away. Simply lovely!

Being that it is invasive, would you suggest I just get rid of it? I am trying to clean up the property (1 acre) and have ripped out some other things that were taking over.

Thank you - Now if only the wintercreeper that is taking over the property would be as easy as a shrub to remove!
