Weed B Gone Max should get rid of those dandelions. Instead of spraying the root stub, you should remove the flowering part, and spray the leaves at the base. Most herbicides are absorbed via the leaves, and will not work otherwise. I would used a tank sprayer, and apply a good squirt to each dandelion base in your yard. It's usually easier after you mow and can use the lines in your yard to keep track of which ones you have sprayed.

Now that I know what they are, I will try to "rescue" the others. Any tips on trying to keep alive.
