Name That Plant!

Tall Shrub with Yellow Hanging Flowers

Hello,

There is a shrub nearby, roughly eight to nine feet tall. It has small yellow flowers that dangle from it, with slight reddish streaks on the inside of each flower.

The flowers seem fragrant, though it's so subtle, I don't know if it's my imagination. Can someone please help me identify this plant? It's growing in Zone 8.

Laburnum perhaps?

Yes, Laburnum - actually a small tree. If it's looking like a shrub it may have been cut back. All parts highly toxic.

Are they toxic if you touch them? Or simply toxic if ingested?

If ingested. I've never had a contact dermatitis from touching a Golden Chain tree.

they are fairly toxic - but the scent caused them to be used for perfume and potpourri for years and years.
