What kind of gingers are you looking for and do you have a botanical name for the cotton? Thanks

Hi All, been a bit busy with not fun gardening things. Remember two Sundays ago with the big wind? This happenedSo then of course we had to get out the chainsaw and make this happenAnd then we had to pick a tree we wanted to go in the giant hole the palo verde left. We decided on a Silk Floss Tree. I had read about Grant growing one and I think it would be a really fun focal point so I called around and the only place that had one is Tropica Mango, so off we went this week. Got a ton of other stuff, because why not? And if you are making the trip there, for me it was 52 miles, you might as well. I got a goji tree, a sapote tree, a surinam cherry bush, a curry plant, banana tree, passion fruit vine and of course the Silk Floss. I wanted a Bay Laurel tree but he was out. I have since ordered one online so it will be here soon. The Silk Floss is small now, but after reading Grants story about his, I am hoping it will look good in a few years. Right now it is a bit of a stick. Anyway lots of planting happening today. I also got a rhubarb start, don't know how it will do, I know they are difficult here, but I am at 2500 feet so maybe I will have a little luck. Also putting in seeds for turnips,beets,carrots,kale,peas,peppers, radish,chard, and tomatillo. I will be well dirty and very happy by the end of the day.
