Pseudobulb productivity?

I am a new orchid grower, but already have close to 100 plants. My phals. are reblooming nicely with their current treatment, but none of my cattleyas or cattleya alliance types are. I have been giving them weekly weak fertilizer, with bloom booster once a month. There has been healthy foliage/pseudobulb growth/production throughout the fall and winter. I am trying to make a few changes, such as next winter I will allow them to be drier than I did this year, and I have also moved them to receive more sun.
In the meantime, when they are happier and ready to bloom for me, will the pseudobulbs that have been present for a year or two (and not bloomed yet) ever bloom, or if they don't bloom their first year, forget it???? Some have a small dried brown sheath coming out of the pseudobulb where the stalk of the flower should appear.....can I look forward to lots of blooms next season if I do things right?
