Completely new to orchids...growing w/artificial light indoors.

So I bought an Aerogarden--one of those indoor hydroponic herb/flower growing systems--actually I bought two(one for herbs *and* one for flowers). I noticed--much to my surprise--how bright the light is that they give off; it's like the surface of a small sun. My kitchen is illuminated. Then I got the idea that I could technicially put plants all around it! It's that bright. So I was at walmart in the garden area and I saw some neglected, long since-flowering, left-over Valentine's Day orchids. They seem healthy enough and are 50% off so I buy one. Tag says it's a Phalaenopsis.

Can I grow this nearby the lights of the Aerogarden? The lights supposedly are on for 16 hours, off for 8 hours every day. The bubbling water should create some humidity in there too, I would think. What do you think?
