are newspaper and animal manure OK in organic gardening?

using newspaper in compost intended for use in an organic vegetable garden: there's no lead in ink, but are there no other noxious ingredients in newspaper? like solvents or anything? there are plenty of foods i wouldn't eat because of the junk that's in them, and they're approved for consumption. (i don't even like the idea of adding produce from the supermarket dumpster to my compost pile because it's not organic. aren't there remnants of waxes, pesticides, fertilizers, additives, etc? ) i've also wondered about using animal manure in compost. animals are often given medications and cheap feed and other things that end up in the manure. i wonder what end-products these things biodegrade into. are they simple compounds that are acceptable by the standards of organic food production?
