I thought I responded a couple days ago -I guess it's gone to cyber space. Hurricane CHarley knocked down 5 huge trees on my property, there was no damage to our house or the houses next door so I considered that a warning and now have no tall trees at all. We are 11 ft above sea level and a block from a tidal canal so I am somewhat concerned about flooding although we've never had any flooding the 29 years we've been in this house. If we have a hurricane warning I can drop the shade and put the orchids on the pea gravel that's there and maybe just cover them with the shade fabric. If we have flooding,I'll have bigger concerns than my orchids. I'm going to contact the sprinkler guy and find out how realistic it would be to run a pipe to the area and put in a sprinkler head. We are allowed to use sprinkler water twice a week for four hours so it would be a nice back up water plan.

I have purchased some awsome IKEA products. My favorite is a long bench I put on wheels and my kids use this everyday with toy bins underneath. It is laminated and very easy to clean and sturdy. If you near an IKEA spend a day and feel the products as every product is on display. I have seen some not so quality items but for the price.... Are you and IKEA family member? They give monthly discounts and offers via e-mail and you can log on to the website for the current offers at each store. Most of the systems are 2 person jobs though so make sure you recruit help. elfa shelving at The Container Store. They have the chrome, the brackets are almost invisible, it's very adjustable, and pretty easy to install. Their 30% off sale starts a around Christmas for several weeks, and they will help you design it. Lots of options, too, if you want them. In the places where I don't have elfa, I have the shelving Patricia mentioned. It's probably cheaper, they have it at Container Store under the name Metro, but you can get virtually identical at big-box hardware stores.

I too am trying to identify the customized closet systems in my new condo, so I can buy some additional shelves. I can't believe they don't put their name or logo somewhere ! I too have those oval hanging rods, but my shelves are on moveable pegs for support (thankfully).
