Name That Plant!

I've never seen anything quite like this, have you?.

I live in Yorkshire, England. My garden is south facing. This plant has found its way into my garden somehow. I noticed a rosette of leaves last summer for the first time although I didn't plant it. Over the winter the plant has grown to a height of approximately 72 inches without any support. There are numerous flower buds growing on stalks from the single central stem. The leaves are rather course and hairy.
I am intrigued.
