overspray from chemicals

I have been growing vegetables, mostly lettuce, and some strawberries on my porch. I live in a condo so the property around it is community property. I have been having a terrible time with ticks in the area beyond my porch, and had finally gotten the maintenance guys to agree to spray some nematodes. So today I look out back and there is a man spraying chemicals, everywhere, up in the trees, beside my porch, just feet away from the food. I stopped him (he wasn't happy!) and sent him on his way but I should have asked what he was spraying, and I don't know the company name.

I'm super sensitive to chemicals and grow my own food because I can't tolerate MSG and other food additives and preservatives. My question is whether or not the possible overspray from this chemical has landed on my food, and if so, is it ruined? Would it do any good to hose it off?

I know the concentrations in the sprays aren't as strong now, but I don't want ANY chemicals on my food! I am just sick about it.

Thanks for any info or advice you can send my way.
