I know you said species or primary hybreds, BUT, if you change your mind and want a Catt for a Catt I have one Sc CS "Aileen" and two potinara "Afternoon Delights" left. And I have just the spot for a King George. There are others on your list I'd like but my only species avaliable is a Phal equestris seedling from Oak Hill Judy

I have the following: Lc Hwa Yan Little Angel, small plant 1 to 2 years from bloom with new growths and healthy roots. This is a Carmela clone, I have about 20 different ones, if you are interested I can send you a list. You might also look at the list I posted on this exchange forum under 'Cattleya clones, young plants'. One named Standopea, I'll have to get back to you on that one and one unamed which I believe is Stan jenishiana, its in bud now, I'll know in 2 weeks when it blooms. I'd be interested in the 2 1st BLCs and any of the L species. If there is still an interest I'll get a little more precise on the Stans and the various Carmela and Kawamoto clones I have. Nick

Nearly all my collection is heirloom orchids. Aside from some newly awarded ones. My plants are grown in everything from long strand sphagnum in clay pots, to Aussie Grow-type mix. Some are planted in a mix of fir bark and Dynagrow. But with the fir bark, I have to hang the plants from the purlins. The bark if kept too wet will go bad quickly. I'm getting out of bark. Quality is bad now. Much of my plants are in Sphagnum and are hung on purlins in the GH to get as much light as possible. As for Bob Betts 'York' you could try calling them. They might still have the plant. They still have many old cut-flower types. Many of my plants came from the the original Stewarts stud house when they were in San Gabriel. Some from Jones & Scully. The big trouble with older plants is the problem of virus. I know that some of my very old plants are virused. But I tag them and isolate them. But in flowering, they show no visible signs of virus, still I'm careful when dividing and cutting flowers to always sterilize my tools. If you are looking for some heirloom cattleyas, try Chadwick and Sons. Even Waldor Orchids has a few oldies. And always check with local orchid societies where you can talk to the old-timers.

In no particular order: Sarcochilus Heidi x Susan. A strong grower and flowers like mad with typically 2 spikes/leaf node. Shame there is no hint of Susan's colours. Still despite being "another white Sarc" the red centre is quite a bold brick red. It's actually a really nice flower just not nice in the way I expected. Sarcochilus Burgundy on Ice "Marks Gift": This is an awarded clone that grows well, produces masses of near solid pink/red flowers in spring and more often than not a few more spikes in autumn, which I find odd for something made up of spring flowering species. Sarcochilus Fitzhart (hartmannii alba x fitzgeraldii. alba): I have 3 of these. Disappointing in that none have came out alba. Flowers are typical Fitzharts with a washed out pink centre. Unfortunately they grow quickly and flower really well (moreso than my better quality Fitzharts) so they've narrowly avoided being culled from the collection on several occasions. Pterostylis Nodding Grace: Not the most spectacular of greenhood flowers but it multiplies well and flowers even from quite small tubers. Very forgiving of poor culture. Dendrobium kingianum "Highclere" One of my few favourites on this list. A nicely coloured pink/purple kingie. A strong grower and flowers prolifically and produces very few keiki's, which is always nice. Stelis porschiana: Tiny dull brownish red flowers but it grows like a weed and flowers without effort. Tolerant of heat and cold. It's actually kind of endearing when in full flower - if you get up close. Pterostylis curta: I got this clone from a friend as a 'thankyou' for a few plants I gave him (I didn't really want another curta but I find it hard to turn down gifts). This clone reproduces and flowers reliably (as do most curta) but it also can produce up to 3 flowers/stem. Great plant, the only downside is that I have no location data on it, which for common species is ordinarily a reason for me to get rid of it (I like keeping location data on my Australian terrestrials). Very forgiving. Dendrobium Malones "Grey": Hard to kill, flowers well in spring and occasionally sends out flowers in autumn. It does like to keiki though. Cymbidium Mini Mint "Emiko": Impossible to kill. A fairly run of the mill green intermediate. Flower count isn't outstanding but it makes up for it in the number of spikes it puts out and the ease with which it flowers. Quickly fills a pot. Spiranthes australis: Spirals of small pink flowers. My clone doesn't self pollinate which is a good quality in Spiranthes. Stick the pot in a tray of water and it pretty much takes care of itself. Some of these might be a little difficult to source outside of Australia so don't take it as a shopping list.
