No labels at the garden?

Chris, I thought it was Arctostaphylos, too, but it's a relative. One of the Flick people IDed it as Erica baccans, and other pictures of that plant confirm it.

bboy, the garden is fairly well labeled, but it's a state institution and the state is hurting badly for money. I imagine staff can't keeping up with replacing many broken, missing, or overgrown labels. The desert (especially the aloes) and fern gardens seem to be the least well-labeled because of how the plants spread. And multi-trunked bushy mature shrubs like this one are also under-labeled.

Maybe they need more volunteers.

The gates all have signs requesting volunteers, of course. But they'd still need adequate staff supervision to map locations and provide the names.
