Need ID of red-flowering, climbing Camellia-type shrub.

Okay, this is a strange one. I am a professional gardener and a plant broker and cannot figure out what this plant is.

In every respect, this plant looks EXACTLY like an evergreen Camellia japonica. It grows in morning sun/ afternoon shade in Fremont, California in crappy clay soil.

Long-lived flowers (1-2 months) appear in winter, are cherry red in color and tubular in shape. Unlike most Camellias, these flowers continues to grow outward from stem in a tubular shape, but never open very wide.

The wierd thing about this plant is that it grows upward and twines around stakes! It also seems to need stake support. It comes this way from the nursery. I cannot find who supplies it. This plant was never listed on the landscape plans, I am stuck. The nurseries I buy from cannot ID it either.
