Thanks but nah...i'm still using my old broken one. It works, i just miss a lot more than i used to. One day i'll run across one somewhere. Meanwhile, I find a can of flying insect killer works quite well!

Google an iRobot Scooba, best mops you can buy.

I have 3 robots of my own, one Scooba and 2 vacuums. They even have their own room they go to when they need to recharge.

Course, the cat's not thrilled with them and the dog has issues when they try to vacuum him but I don't like cats and the dog is the reason I need them.

Thanks to Stacy, I have a roomba. I had to send the first one back for a couple of reasons. One being that the remote never worked. Now I have three different remotes, including one that I KNOW works...and still, no functionality with the remote. But it works well for vacuuming. I just wish I could control it so it wouldn't vac the same gd spot over and over and over and over and over.

Not enough mess or hard floors to justify a scooba. Now if irobot makes a fly swatter...i'm there.

If I remember correctly, the last time I was ever in chat, I told Stacy of my robots.

Never had trouble with the remotes, guess I'm not too lazy to bend over and hit the "clean" button. The Dirt Dog, cleans 2000 sf without going back and forth over the same spot, more than a couple of times, but it doesn't have a "max" or "spot" button.

Men have no justification to "rule" the remotes, can't even work them.

I have a parrot that eats bugs. We have these humongous, yellow grasshoppers that she de-heads and then guts. Pretty funny.

Quit being a pansy and get real "cleaners".

Does the roomba go over area rugs, door mats etc without struggling?
Does Scooba mop without leaving a residue?
I have been using Starfiber macrofiber mop for the last few years- it is so good on tile and marble, would not change to any other mop system, unless automated.

The DirtDog has max and spot, but you have to use the remote to activate them. I'd use mine in the house, but it scratches the heck out of the old, engineered flooring.

The Scooba leaves streaks on shiny surfaces, but I hate mopping enough not to care. As for area rugs and door mats, it depends on how high they are, the pile, etc. They'll go over my mom's inch high, tightly woven, woolen area rug without a problem, but they tend to wad up the small, thin, light, door mats that don't 'stick' to floors.

Alright fine, for the record...Laura gets the official credit for my roomba, because she got Stacy into them, and then Stacy got me into them. I suppose you can chime in with who got YOU into them, Laura, and I'll update the credit again. Is it WOOT? Should I just save the trouble and give the credit to WOOT? lol Bah @ remotes!

I just got digital cable today when I got digital phone... to go with my digital internet. Anyway the remote doesn't support PIP (picture in picture), which I use religiously to avoid commercials. So now I have to get the cable losers to come back and give me an advanced remote (which they want to charge me for), so I can use the feature on my TV that I love the most. Arrrrggghh! Now i'm up to 7 remotes, not counting the three non-working roomba remotes. Where can I get a gross of AA batteries? :P

Thanks Stacy for the scoop on roomba and scooba, was looking at some scooba commercials, may bring it home one of these days!

After four trips to the post office to return my Rhoomba for repairs, I gave up and it sits useless in the closet. It is no easy task for me to pack and send the "lemon" back for yet another repair!! Win a few, lose a few. Excellent concept, but you can't prove it by me!

Okay, (holds head in shame), I'm a certified wootaholic. Have been for a couple of years. DID YOU SEE THE PRICE ON THE FRONT LOAD WASHER AND DRIER LAST WEEK?.

My Scooba doesn't leave marks on the hardwood floors, although admittedly it only hits the hardwoods when it "escapes". I generally use the Dirt Dog and Roomba on the hardwoods and the Scooba only on the tile (this is Florida, no carpets). I usually use a Swifter on the hardwoods after the robots have done their thing. It has, however, done half a room of hardwoods before I noticed it "escaped" from the kitchen or baths.

The only issue I have with any of them is that the Scooba always wants to be emptied when it is invariably sitting in the middle of the kitchen and me and my dirty bare feet have to walk over damp tiles to "help" it. I have found if I just hit the clean button again it resumes what it was doing.

The only carpet I have in the house is a large throw rug in my office and a couple rugs in the bathrooms. The Dirt Dog will get stuck on them but manages to unstick itself. The Roomba doesn't seem to like carpet at all but maybe it would be fine on wall to wall, rather than throw rugs.

I don't use the remotes. I only have the electric walls and bases they return to in order to charge.

For the record, the Dyson is fab when I have to clean up what the robots miss.

I love my robots and hate that some of you have had bad luck. I think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Mr. B are you paying cable for digital phone, digital cable and digital internet (misnomer)? All you need is high speed broadband and the rest is either free or damn close. The video card in my computer will work the analog TV, Netflix supplies all the TV and movies I've never seen and Vonage the phone. All told $60 a month and $30 of that is the cable DSL (via Earth Link with no contract). I am glad though, that you've finally gotten on the digital phone bandwagon. I hopped on 3 years ago and can't believe how reluctant people are to the concept.

Well...I tried to get digital phone when I moved to my current house about 4 years ago. But when I'd call to inquire, they would tell me "oh sorry, we don't have service in your area yet". And I'd say, "what?!?? I live in the middle of the city, the capital of the state, surrounding by neighborhoods and utilities and ..civilization!". And they'd say, "yes that's true, but for some reason it isn't available yet at your address. I'll look into it and call you back." So I'd call them back a year or so later and ask again...same story.

So finally, recently, I asked them ...why??? Why can I not pay you for your mediocre service??? I WANT to give you my money...why won't you take it. And they finally did. Turns out my house was not 'registered' in their database or something, despite the neighbors on both sides of me being in the system. My house was just a 'black hole' to their computer (not when it was time to bill me for cable and internet of course).

The biggest pisser lately though...is that I got digital cable, which does NOT work with a 2-tuner picture in picture tv. My only hope is to split the cable signal PRIOR to the cable box, send the coax to the tv, the other coax to the digital box...and then somehow use a non coax connection to go from the digital box to the tv (probably RCA jacks)...even assuming I get all that done, there's really no guarentee that the PIP will work.

Dear lord Mike, all you need for digital phone is DSL, your address is irrelevant. You were asking the wrong company. Skype, Vonage, Packet8 and a myriad of other digital phone providers would have been happy to change your land line number to digital.

I've heard PIP doesn't work with digital Don't know why as it's not on my radar. (I think PIP is a guy thing).However, all that you need for HDTV is a satellite HD receiver that you can buy for $100 and an antenna. Granted this won't give you HBO etc., but Netflix and Joost can come close for $10 a month. Albeit Joost needs some work but in my area there are close to 30 HDTV signals being broadcast by the local networks, most of which aren't available via analog. Actually, I only get 3 analog stations. Depending on the video card in your computer, you may well be able to hook it up to your present TV rather than buying an expensive large screen monitor or TV if you don't want to buy a sat HD receiver but still stream movies online.

Moral of story: technology works great if you know how to Google.
