Good Plums for cold zones?

I finally decided that I want to get a Plum tree this year. It's the last open spot in my yard so I have to get one that is self fertile. I'm probably going to order it from Raintree. I'm not very picky, and I haven't even chosen European or Asian.

Can anyone give me any advice for what to chose? I'd like fruit that is sweet and good for fresh eating and ripe during the summer or early fall so it doesn't overlap too much with the apples. I'm curious about Kuban Comet or Voyageur as they both seem to fit what I'm looking for.
