hat Time of year is upon us!! It time to trade, buy, and give away and get scions for grafting. I am looking for the following apples, plums pluots, and peaches. Trade or I will buy or pay postage.

any other good peach. Really I am looking for any peaches as I have very few and bunch of nemaguard rootstock to graft on to.

korean giant asian pear

seckel pear

orient asian pear

Also Have a bunch of apples and some pears that have not fruited but I have plenty of scion wood for. Some are rare varieties. I your interested just ask me and I will give the list.

I have some of the trees on your scion wish list, and they grow west of Houston. When and where are you planning to graft all this stuff? The cuttings are free, but you would have to cover the 'scion-vac' copter trip. What are your normal chill hours there?

I'm finished up with trading scion wood for the year and getting my remaining scion wood from individuals who I have standing deals with and Bob Purvis purvisrc@msn.com he charges $4 for a 12-inch stick of scionwood and $2.50 for a 6-inch stick. There is a flat $8 charge for Priority Mail shipping and packaging If anyone else is at that point. I am getting plums, apricots, peaches, and pears from him. I have yellow elberta freestone peaches and yellow freestone nectarines and satsuma mandarin oranges (tangerines) I can take scions from. I would be interested in scions from your naval oranges and possibly plums and cherries depending on what varieties you have. I'm looking for yellow cherries and a black cherry to cross pollinate the black cherry I have. I'm just learning to do grafting and rooting too. Last year I had only limited success out of more than 100 cuttings, but I did get several grape vines and 3 or 4 eureka lemons to root. I mostly learned what does not work. Let me know what varieties you have and if you would like to trade.

The Cox Orange pippin sounds nice. I still have some dormant scion in the fridge. Check my trade list and contact me offlist to see if I still have what you may be interested in. I've been cleaning out the fridge lately but still have at least 10 varieties available. I too look forward to trading with others in 2010! Peace, Little John

Hello Can't you just ship the scions? That's what most people do. I have a nursery and do about 500 or more grafts a year. I get about 900-700 hours of chill depending on year. This year may be way more. Sadly I do not have any plums to give scions to. The plums peaches and apples are what I am looking for.

Jesse- just a note to tell you that the Seckel pear you shared with me last year took nicely. Thanks for sharing it. And yes, I think our scion exchange via USPS worked perfectly well.

I have transparent and tompkins king apple also shiro and santa rosa plums. I also have sev. other plums and peaches not on your list. If you are interested in a trade send me a list of what you have available, particularly apples and plums
