Need Help with Floritam (St. Augustine) grass

My sod was just laid in April and I'm having problems. It was doing fine up until 10 days ago. It is thinning out in areas and seems to be dying and I don't know why. There are no signs of pests in the grass and my water schedule has not changed. Ironically it has been extra hot here during that time frame. The heat index has been around 105 degrees. Our normal pattern of rain has changed during that time too. We haven't had a lot of rain in almost two weeks. I'm in a new subdivision and I noticed other houses are having the same problems. Should I increase waterings? I water twice a week for 30 minutes each time due to water conservation. Any suggestions before the dying areas spread across my lawn?
