Fern-like Ontario forest perennial???

palatinehill

This plant is growing in our surround forest in central Ont., but have never seen it before. It transplanted well, grows about 12-16" tall with yellow bract-like flowers held above. The seeds took well, so have many babies. The leaves are fuzzy, fern shaped, delicate. Animals love eating the flower buds. Any help?
