Here are some pics of the craft show this past weekend. I did pretty good, I sold $381.00 and my booth rent was $25.00. The show was only 6 hours. DH help me set up Friday night and break down Saturday. I still had lots left, but neighbor who has a stained glass store is going to let me put some totems there on consignment. It was really fun. I came up with an idea for my next sale. I have had garden clubs ask to tour my yard, I think maybe I could have a show and sell for them. What ya think? Sorry pix are a little blurry.

froufrou...that sounds pretty darn good to me (especially for a 6 hr show)! And your tables looks gorgeous...but, boy, I'd be holding g'kids hands to stop at your space! Lots of beautiful glass!

what sold the best? How 'bout those darling bottle bugs thingeys? Were there lots of lookers? People going thru quite often? TFS! Jeanne S.

I love the white skate too!! That is a terrific idea & stars really make it along with the fur!! Gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling you get around holiday time,(I love the holidays)! Thanks for the skate paint answer. I would imagine larger town the price would be a lot more for a table or booth & "regulars" might get the "best" spots. Going somewhere else can be a worry, bad roads, weather turning bad etc. So I would consider all that & having to get up early to get there. Costs involved in going there count against your profits. We did Craft Boutique for 2-3 years in a woman's club & then over to bank we had a room they let us use. After we quit, Tole painting came in & I was still making crafts so our local park had tables to rent so GF & I shared a long table but they didn't do much advertising so we didn't sell much, few customers that came bought something from us but not many came as cold day & they bought little things so we took home most of what we brought. Shortly after that Craft Boutiques became jewelry & company made jams with country looking cloth with ribbon around or made in China stuff with that pulled off & ribbon added,etc.& I lost interest. I haven't been to any this year, few & far between, only couple I would liked to have gone to but had to do other things. Hi Mojo, I was surprised to see Luvs mention my shutter shelf in this forum (thanks Luvs). I think your asking price for the shelf is correct. I paid $50 for mine at a country store in VT - and get this, it still had a bit of dirt on the back of it. (LOL) It was old and rustic and I wanted something different on my walls than just pictures. Didn't matter how much it was, when I saw it, I wanted it and it looks fantastic on my kitchen wall. I change the decorations for it to suit me, or the seasons. My kitchen decorating theme is roosters, so this first pic I'm posting is of my summer rooster theme. Two more pics in next posts. Sal Here is a link that might be useful:

So, I've been working in that room a LOT! Packed up and donated a ton of stuff, but still have plenty left. The fabric and trims will be getting another thorough culling after I regain some steam. I wish I had taken a "before" pic, but it was just a mess. Imagine tubs and stuff and junk just strewn everywhere. Here's my "during" pics: That lamp was a $2 thrift store find! I just found an inexpensive shade, dressed it up with a little ric-rack and painted the finial to match. The desk is getting new paint and hardware. The shelf is also getting fresh paint. That yellow chair is the inspiration for the feel and color scheme of the room. The table...also getting fresh paint. I wanted a table big enough to really work at. Something big enough to sew, paint, cut fabric, etc. I already had that table, and decided this was the perfect spot for it. It has another leaf, too, so I can add another foot or so if I need to. I was looking for a rolling cart or shelf to store the sewing machines on, but couldn't find anything that met all of my needs, so I just made one! I used a piece of heavy plywood, added casters to the bottom and handles on the sides. The paint is still curing, but both machines will fit on it, and it stows nicely under the table. So far, the only new things I've bought were the lamp, the red rolling chair, and the hardware. I'm still searching for closed storage for the fabric, either a pantry or an armoire.

I have a sewing/craft room set up, which I use almost every day. I can't find my camera cable right now, so I can't upload a photo, but I had a thought about your space. You really need a sewing machine space AND a table space because half of sewing is laying out the pattern, cutting, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm at my sewing table at least as much as I am at my machine itself. So, what might work really well for you is to get an old armoire from your local CL, and create something like the attached for the machine itself. Then you could position the table about a foot and a half out from the wall so that the person using it would stand between the wall and table, and could view tv. You could use the space under the table for wheeled carts which could hold storage supplies. Honestly the best storage I have in my craft room is the 8 foot long pegboard I put up. Everything hangs there: scissors, rotary cutters, rotary rulers, tape measures, etc. I can clean up in under two minutes, which helps me keep the area neat. The third element that is critical to the space is an ironing board. You could easily accomodate that by putting a fold-down board on the wall. They even have attractive cabinets for them now. Way to Go, Frou. Super display, and I think your sales were really good for just 6 hrs. How did the little Bottle Angels do?

Lovely display!! Glad things went well & you made some money! Are you wanting to sell to garden clubs? If so write up some of advantages of having glass in the garden---adds interest,adds color before plants start blooming, ties an area of garden together,adds a touch of whimsy, etc. That way when you talk like that they will think they need just what you have!! Also I didn't see any bird feeders or baths, be sure to have them around in garden if they come as many gardeners are also birders!! Good Luck!! Jan

Wow, I'd say you did very well! Your display is awsome too. Tell us what sold the best? How much were you charging for things? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, the best seller was the votive/bottle bugs, everyone loved them. Surprisingly, I only sold one angel. I sold some of everything else. I sold four large totems, people like the ones that were feeders and the blue and white ones best, I sold 3 blue ones and one green one. The bugs were $10.00 and $12.00 dollars, plate flowers $15.00 (plus pole $3.00), the mini-totems $12 & $15.00, teacup feeders $12, mushrooms $12 & $20, and the totems $25 and $30. It was a lot of fun.

Your display is absolutely stunning! Very nicely set up. And you really had a lot of cool items. I am not surprised you did so well. It is all about presentation and you had that down pat!

I'm glad I wasn't there because I'd be broke! lol! Love all your creations and it sounds like other folks did too and proved it with their wallets. Congratulations on the great sales and good luck with the garden tour if you do it. I think it would be a great idea.

Glad you had such good sales. Your booth sure looks pretty. I like your idea for the garden tour/sale too. I think people would like seeing them in a garden setting, then you could end the tour with a display of items for sale at the end. After seeing them in your garden, bet lots of them will want their own. ;o) Luvs

Absolutely gorgeous!
As a crafter w/ 35+ yrs experience, I'd like to make 1 suggestion to you & anyone else reading...
The display is perfect, clean, orderly, BUT, get some dark green tablecloths.
First, that will give the "garden" appearance. More important, it will "set-off" all your beautiful creations!
Weather I sell at a show or online, I use a forest green background. Started beacause I had a whole 18-yd bolt of polyester ($1/yd at Walmart). It brought out the best of everything, my sales increased, and I've done it ever since.
It used to be crafts, then H&B, now, yard art too.
Something so simple can make a BIG difference!
