Something really fun!

I was doing a sale of my birdhouses at our castle here in town last Saturday. A young woman walks up to me and asks "are you on the internet?" I say I haven't got a website, but I do have a link to photobucket. She says, "No, I mean do you go on Garden Web? I think I know you!" It was ttennis from Garden Junk and she recognized my houses from here! Now what are the chances of that? Here are ttennis and me!

Oh, I know this should be on the other side, but we just had to share this fun with you all.

parma, I appeciated magnaverde's kind words more than I can say, but it was really great to see him commenting again. Hadn't seen him around for a while on forums and thought maybe he fell off the edge of the earth or something. bebe, well... it's not always easy to find someone. You can try the IACC website. Link below. I pretty much worked from referrals and I had a space at a local design market. Asking around the paint stores and friends/family/work might be help you stumble on someone. Ya never know. You have to decide what you want and be very clear with whoever you find. Many designers, decorators, stagers, painters, and faux finishers include 'color consulting' on their menu of services. Just because it's on their menu of services doesn't mean they should be doing it. (Amy, the NY Times is interesting.) There is as much debate about what 'color consulting' means as there is about 'color expert'. i.e. Showing up with two Benjamin Moore fandecks and/or big color chips doesn't qualify as a color consultation. It's a color ping. Meaning a warm body shows up and proceeds to show you different paint chips, you pick colors, pay 'em a hundred bucks or so, and maybe buy paint from their store and/or sign on the dotted line with "their painter" to do the work. And they leave. I have a rather harsh and opinionated point of view as far as what constitutes a Color Expert. My take on what makes for real a Color Consultation is equally extreme and hardcore. I can get a little intense about it. âº There will be varying levels of knowledge and skill. There will be cases of using 'color consulting' as a way to get in there and then up-sell. Meaning you might start out wanting to paint your kitchen and then be 'advised' that you need all new window treatments, a sofa, or a dog that "goes better". Be careful out there. Mitch, I forgot to say that those aren't my feet. Altho I'm loving that purple polish! Joanie, while I've read that several times before I still laugh at it - so true! As someone who has a dog and is owned by 3 cats I can totally relate. We really did buy a king size bed several years ago when our little dog slept sideways on it and I was crowded in our queen size. Hard to believe a 17 lb. dog can stretch out 36" long! We've now banished them all from our new queen size bed! But I still have company in the powder room. One of our cats will scratch on the door, just like a dog, if the door is closed! *rolleyes*

Jan and Kirk and Carol, I'm so happy to hear from you. It's all so fun, isn't it? Yes Jan, I sold 6 pieces! I was thrilled, and now I think I have another commission too.

Kirk and Carol, I'm glad I could provide a smile. It sounds like things have been a little tough up there. Please know you're on my mind til I hear that things are better. I just came back on to look at your happy faces again & you 2 could be sisters!! You look very much alike!! So not only is it cool you met but you have very similar features!! Amazing!! Thank you everyone! How fun to read your comments. I'm on the run today but will post a link or pics of some of the birdhouses when I return after this weekend Jeanne. Thanks for asking. I think its best to put links in the box under the post box that says: Optional link URL. Then remember to name the link in the next box. Sometimes I don't get that link box until the preview message stage of the process.
