ISO: Simple, Lightweight, Self-Propelled Mower

Hello,

I'm a somewhat infrequent visitor to this forum but I am in need of advice. I have a small 1/4 - 1/3 acre lot that has a pretty steep hill in the back. I used a LB 10313 for about 9 years before it gave up the ghost last year. Overall I was pretty happy with the abuse it took for 9 years, it was light, reliable and easy to throw around in the back yard. Self-propelled is a must with the hill.

After some research and some brand loyalty I replaced it at the end of last year with a LB 10682. This one sucks. The deck doesn't seem to know what to do with what it has mulched and it chokes itself about every 30-40 feet until it starts puking clumps of grass or shuts down. So the obvious questions, how high/how wet/how often, etc, etc.... I cut it high - 3 to 3-1/2 inches and am not doing anything any differently than I have for the last 9 years. It just doesn't perform well.

It seems that mowers have only gotten heavier and more complicated over the years. My criteria seem simple enough:

- Lightweight

- Self propelled

- Mulch

- Simple (no bells and whistles)

Light and manueverable are key. Am I asking too much?

Any recommendations on anything on the market today?

Signed,

Frustrated

Thanks!
