My lamp (not garden junk, but idea from it)

Here are the pics of the lamp that I mentioned on the granite bb thread. Once you start on these type of projects, you never know what you will use it on! lol!

I now have a set of these.

How about a planted shoe for each of them? The kids could get involved by bringing an old shoe they can no longer wear. I find hen & chicks grow the best in them, but probably any sedum or succulent would work. Maybe you have some growing in your garden. Now I would have NO problem filling 17 little shoes out of my garden - I have them planted in everything! Some kids might not be able to bring a shoe, others will bring more than 1. Cut a hole in the toe area, fill with dirt, and plant. I'd love a gift like that! Maybe you could even come up with a little poem or saying about "no one else can fill your shoes" or something like that. They could be tennis shoes, boots, etc. - whatever the kids can bring. I think your plates are really neat!! Like all the eyes & hands around them. Perfect for Halloween. My 2 kids were born at Halloween. We've made graveyard with gravestones(of wood) I still have 1 it says Dracula sleeps here-----sometimes! I had a lot of dirt that yr. & made a mound like a grave & had DH's old boot sticking out like he didn't get buried completely.At a party we had for church group I made pole people. I just used a broom with broom up in air, taped 2nd shorter pole on it, put wig head on with Frankenstein face I painted on. The long broom gave him broad shoulders, I added arms & shirt & pants with some blood of course. Another pole was a witch with a green face & witches hat & black cape (left from when DD was witch)Added long black skirt.A farmer had 1 arm & stump, scary monster had full head mask over wig head. Of course we had a "house of horrors" with peeled grapes, wet spaghetti(brains) hotdog with fake nail,some other things & bananas in a canning pot. We had made a tape & weird sounds & GF's crackling voice told them to wash their hands & toilet flush can be heard. We walked them through tin cans, cellophane crumpled & lot of very dry leaves then a gangplank it was only 4 in. off the ground but you would have thought it was 10 ft. up then the voice said "man overboard" & we pushed them into the big overstuffed rocker that someone had dumped near my house about a week before. Of course everyone was shocked to see they had not gone up much of a plank.Those already in back yard were very quiet until the person got the mask off & everyone had to tease the latest victim. Oh, I had a sheet with 2 holes cut out & stuffed with white paper & hung from corner of house. He was a scary looking ghost hanging by his neck. Jan

Thats great! Love the stones. I too wonder how/if you sealed them. I repurpose lamps too. Now have so many that I have to sneak them into the house. I've given some as gifts, have to keep doing that lol.

WOW. Personally I think most lamps they sell are majorly UGLY. I am always looking for ways to make them look better and I like your idea. I have a beige and green bird cage that I am trying to figure out how to make into a lampshade. Natural objects are just so pretty Thanks

No - the rocks are not sealed. They are polished. I bought them from Hobby Lobby. They come in bags for around a $1-$2 each. Thanks for the compliments!

Luved both your BB and now this lamp, great idea using the stones.
I definitely going to steal your idea for the BB....... Now to find a BB! I did have a wonderful bright orange one when I bowled but am afraid in one of my cleaning spurts I may have given it to Salvation Army.

I will definitely have to remember this. I love natural things. Right now my living room lamps are like this (I added the Rustic Garden Projects to keep it garden junk related lol). I bought this lamp on eBay. I waited about 2 weeks and never got it. So I contacted the seller. He was as perplexed as I was. He felt so bad, he made me another plainer lamp and sent that to me. I felt awful because I really loved this lamp. Lo and behold, a week or so later it arrived! It seems that the courier delivered it to the wrong address and the honest inhabitants returned it. Thank goodness!
