Okay, I have to go to a liquor store just to look at cool, blue bottles! Carol went to a beer making/wine making store and saw some cool, blue bottles there...cool, blue beer bottles with the ceramic caps...I'm thinking hummingbird feeder. I heard that Budweiser will be using blue bottles for their beer. I enjoy Bud Light and have noticed their cans have switched to a cool blue. The only problem with the bottles though is that it will probably have their labels painted on. Sadness...but cool to look at as I enjoy it! LOL :o) Thanks, Sandy, for sharing your find! FANTASTIC!!! Nice to see you posting Nana. Maybe a couple of us can visit again in the near future. Going to your house was a real treat. Check around your recycling places to see if they'll give or trade straight across for blue bottles. The ones here aren't allowed to take any money, but a soda is a good no money gift. You could also start drinking heavily, lol. Ask local restaurants to save them for you. Bottles seem to look nice whether you use single or multiple colors. Just hang them on anything that will hold them, or line them up in a row, or even not in a row. Nona, Thanks for the great suggestions. I thought about corks, but don't have many. There must be some copper wire, and at least a few thousand bottle caps laying around in this pile of stuff/aka cr@p, lol. I took the grandkids out to Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch in Oro Grande, California yesterday. There's so much to see and he's still building them. The kids were happy to meet him and see all the 'stuff' on the trees. It's a great place to see, like walking through a bottle tree forest. Follow the link below the photo to see more of his place. I e-mailed the lady,(her name is Timmie), and she said she drilled holes in the bottles, then wired them onto a chain. Hope this helps! You could always wind some twinkling lights through them to add sparkle and wouldn't it be pretty to use all different colors??!!!! I got most of mine from the recycle man...but now he has moved up in the company, lol. He just gave them to me and I usually rewarded him with apples or grapes and water. I also get some from GW. But sometimes they charge so much that I had just as soon pay $1.99 and get the bottled mineral bubbly water at places like World Market. At least I enjoy drinking it. That is the price of the smaller one and they do have a bigger one. But you can get the empty wine bottles pretty inexpensive online. Just search wine making supplies.
