Gas Can?
Comments (13)Lurker shares my taste in gas cans. Difficult to find, though I have seen the blue ones, labeled kerosene. I have one of those that I've used for gas for years. Don't know about the chemical properties, but doesn't seem to make any difference. I did once have a problem with the blue one. I stopped at a place that had an attendant in a booth in the middle of the gas lanes and couldn't get the pump to start? Walked over to see what was going on and the attendant who looked like she was 12 but had to be 18 to work there said it wasn't an approved gas can. Went someplace else and filled it, haven't been back there since. :-) Ev...See MoreNo Spill gas can warranty
Comments (25)Couple of good hoots here about the wine jugs, refrigerators and such. In NJ, not supposed to pump your own gas, but the local country bumpkin gas stations near here don't care what you do. We were down in Cape May last week. In the service station, I had already paid the guy, I took the gas nozzle out of the car and put it back on the pump. The attendant came over and had a fit. "Not supposed to touch that!!" Was in a Hess station a few days ago. The attendant had on a yellow reflective vest. He was wearing this reflective vest to PUMP gas. I mentioned to him that I have never seen that before. He replied "It's the law in NJ". OK, whatever. Must be a new era....See MoreJustrite Gas Cans
Comments (13)I spent about $2000 for a whole bunch of just-rite gas cans for our company. They all eventually started leaking out of the bottom where they were stamped too thin, the paint would bubble and gas would leak out. There was no physical damage to the cans. They are real pretty and convenient for about the first 6 month to a year. Justrite did send me back new cans, a few times now and they stand up to their warranty. They always leak after a little while and I just don't have time to constantly be dealing with this problem. I need a better can. I like the whole concept of the justrite cans and unfortunately made a whole bunch of racks that fit the cans narrower diameter. Anyone know of another can that is similar, but made by anyone else? JUSTRITE DOES STAND UP TO THEIR WARRANTY, 10 YEARS....See MoreCan't find a regular plain gas can!
Comments (16)I agree with Texas Tom that the gas itself is probably going to be a increasing problem. I recently tried to find out a few simple facts at my local BP station. No stickers about ethanol on pumps. I just wanted to know what % of ethanol was in this gas for my lawn equipment. The employees didn't know, said go look at the website. Did not find any info at the BP website. But I did find some info -- the states set the reg not the federal government. Would be a lot easier if the feds set things up. So some states require a sticker on pumps at 1% ethanol, and others don't require posting at 10%! So my state, Missouri, does not require any stickers on pumps and the max ethanol is 10%. But the next week I found by chance the local paper had an article about this subject. Some folks in the state gov tried to get the 10% max increased to 15%. I wonder if they would require a sticker on the pumps for the 15%! Those proposing this said it for the benefit of the consumer....See Moregroundhogva
