Toro 20065 adjusting down lawn speed
Comments (12)Well, a lot of people pick FWD because they think there's some problem involved with the turnaround on a RWD. Nothing could be further from the truth. On a RWD with bail control, you just let go of the bail when approaching the turnaround, push the handle down and pivot on the rear wheels as usual, then push the mower off while you squeeze the bail to resume drive. On a Personal pace, you don't have to do anything special - just pivot and push. RWD is better on a mower because the handle mount location at the rear throws weight to the rear wheels, particularly when bagging and/or going uphill where you need the most help from the drive. FWD mowers frequently spin wheels and wear the tires out because the drive wheels are on the wrong end. You rarely find bald tires on RWD mowers because it's so much more efficient. RWD is almost always mechanically simpler because the FWD must have a more involved power train since there is no place under the front end to hang the reduction box without having an extension of the deck, which would interfere with mowing up to obstacles. Having the deck extension on the rear is no problem, plus it provides a longer wheelbase for better stability. Incidentally, the 'high-wheel' feature of your mower also has no practical use. It will provide a smoother push for the rear end but the regular-size front wheels still have to bump along over irregularities. It would be effective if it had four high-wheels, but of course that's unlikely with a driven mower. So, even though the RWD doesn't have high wheels in back, you aren't giving up anything....See MoreHonda Mower Engine Hunts
Comments (3)Were you able to remove the main jet and nozzle from the stem of the carb and clean them? Many times you don't actually have to pull them, but sometimes yes. If you had removed the carb, watch over the intake gaskets for placement and tears- they will do the same thing....See MoreUK Tecumseh bvs mower needs ID and carb adjusting
Comments (1)Something i would like to know: What is the goofy conglomeration of things where ever you insert an apostrophe? I have seen that in other postings, and have wondered about them. About your problem, just try adjusting the little screw-s and make sure all of the passages in the carb are clean. Start the adjustment process, by turning the set screws in, then back them out several turns and try it. If it tries to start, turn it out a bit more. This process really is about bravery in turning the adjustment screws. And cleanliness in the little passages in the carb!...See MoreHonda mower idle speed
Comments (2)Sounds like the cable is stuck and will not return. That is kind of how I interpret what Bill wrote. I.e., you take up slack to increase the flow of fuel and air. The slack may not be taken up as you back off the throttle. I could not guess why the throttle works with the blade engaged, but I imagine there could be any number of reasons. To test the throttle cable theory, have someone throttle up the engine without the blade engaged and then unthrottle. You will need to watch the where the cable attaches at the carb. If the cable does not return after the throttle is let up, try to force it by hand or with pliers to help you get a grip on the cable....See Morewilliaea
