Using lubricant on reel blades and hedge blades

My lawn mower shop recommended that I lubricate the reel of my reel mower with 10w30 motor oil to keep it sharpened longer. I found that this attracted dirt and accumulated a layer of debris on the reel, so I tried using 10w40, this worked better but still gump built up.

So I researched and found Dry based film lubricants with teflon in them. it says it goes on wet but produces a micro thin dry based teflon lubricant.

Anyone use this product? I'd think this product would be ideal for hedge trimmers and reel mower blades that come in contact with a lot of grass, dirt and debris over oil based products.
