Got rid of Pear Leaf Blister Mites...

on one tree at least.

I had tried oil and sulfur sprays to no avail.

I knew that all of the mites reside within the leaves, and only migrate into the buds as leaf-fall approaches. So I figured removing all of the leaves would remove all of the mites. So I tried it last year on a small tree and it worked. Not a blister mite to be found this year. I stripped the leaves on September 1st last year. It seems a bit drastic but I found this solution to be quite reasonable. This was on a single, small tree, I don't know if it would be practical on a larger scale, but it's actually surprisingly easy. I have no idea how this would effect fruit production the following season.

One down, two to go.
