For Edna - you have a simply wonderful, gorgeous, stunning garden! The brick pathways remind me of a French Courtyard. I am new to growing Hens & Chicks this year and I am completely jealous of all the wonderful varieties you have. I love the windchimes, I love the hanging planters, I love all of it. Thank you so much for having Linda share it with us, your gardens are a great inspiration to us junkers.

My Grandmother's yard always look much like that - on a much smaller scale, however.

I will never achieve that, but will aspire to it.

Edna has a great eye. She can take a bunch of junk and arraange it in such a way, that it doesn't look like junk.
The walkway is wonderful.

I love her brickwork pathways with the odd metal bits of junk added to the mix.

Woweeee that is a collection. I love the baby carriage and the brick work. That is beautiful. The bed frames are another favorite!! So many things to see and I love it all. I love all the plants too. Everything looks great!

Where does Edna garden? I suppose there's no hope that gourgeous red plant in her wheelbarrow grows in zone 4. Love love the walkway made from irregular sized bricks etc. Echo everyone else on the wonder of it all.

Edna will love all the comments. She lives in Whittier, CA, which could be zone 9. She's always had a great yard, and really 'gets it' about using junk in the garden. The windchimes sound beautiful when they sing. They only used pieces that had a nice sound to them. She's very generous with her plants and junk, and a great friend. Most succulents grow nicely here, but I don't know how they do in different climates. Linda

Edna will love all your comments. Here in California, most of us don't have the luxury of owning much property. She has an average to maybe slightly less than average size lot in a typical tract (sub-division) home. She really knows how to make the best of it, and everything 'average' there, like the old fences, is camoflaged with something wonderful. BTW, the same son who built those windchimes also built that brick wall. It's so nice to visit her AND her yard. The big tree in the photos, as well as a very large magnolia tree in her front yard keep the whole place cool on a hot day. Linda

Did anyone ever identify that bright red/green sedum (if that's what it is) in the wheel barrow? I'd love to know what it is. I've been trying to find it, but can't.

Cedarstick, The 4 photos just before Edna's pic are the same succulent. The green one is in my yard. The color of that particular plant changes depending where it's planted. It turns bright red in the sun. You can see from wheelbarrow pic that it's changing to a more yellow color now that fall is here.
