I've lost track of how many times I've tried this, but I think I have one small enough.....here I go again!

Have you used that outside? I used it on garage window for my mom & it has held up fine but it doesn't get any sun & door goes out to covered patio. If it is Gallery Glass Paint I think it said no direct sun(or rain, snow etc) I do remember someone made a huge shower door or something like that covered with florals but I think it was in corner of porch that was covered. It was about 1 yr ago, shortly after I came on. Nice work, thanks for showing! Jan

Found Carlos Cortex pictures. Wow. they are absolutely fantastic. What a master he is. Thanks for sharing. Speaking of things from your mom.... I took this bowfront chest from my mom's place a few months ago. I remember her "antiquing" over the mahogany when I was very little. I told myself I'd undo her work, but now I have my doubts. I'm learning to live with it. A smallish thing like this with plenty of drawers is so handy. I have all my gym clothes in it, as well as some other things. It's really too big for a nightstand, but next to the bed is the only place it can go. Too bad I can't strip my way into some more space. Now THAT would be worth strapping on the mask and heavy gauntlets for.

didn't see this over the weekend but still wanted to add some input. I absolutely LOVE your choices. The granite is perfect and will enhance everything else. Everything looks so nice together.The floor is the only floor. It will give the look and the feel that you want. Your kitchen will look as though it has been used and loved for generations (and I mean that in the most positive way) Totally timeless Regarding the paint. The advice always thrown around when it comes to paint seems to be that 'it is just paint' I used to think that that was strange advice but it is true. it is the easiest thing to change ( of all the other components) as well as easiest to 'trial' Don't be in a rush to make that decision. Get samples to try out on the walls I started with lots of the colour paper things but get a few of your short listed ones. DOn't put the multicoloured sheet up. Cut out the colour you are interested in then move onto actual paint samples depending on your choice you may need to colour the primer and if it still fails, well - you just paint over it!! can't wait to see the finished kitchen

Thank you, should have said I had forgotton the right steps, this is how I ment to do it, mark pattern on back of glass, useing a paint pen, let dry, mix glue with a little water so its thin enough to paint with, add food coloring a few drops at a time till you get the color you like, you can add more as you are painting, dont over mix the color, add more water as the paint thickens, paint on the same side as you marked your pattern let dry laying flat, I did three coats letting each dry between coats , dry overnight the longer the better (Thats how I messed this up ) mix glue with water to thin so its easy to spread, go over the whole glass, on the painted side, with a very soft brush, be carefull when going over the painted parts, have a peice of regular tissue paper ready that you have crushed up in your hands, the more you crush the paper the better it will look, thats how you get the texture, open paper up and carefully start at one side of the window and lay the paper pressing lightly with your finger tips as you go, dont raise the paper back up as it will pull the paint,and tear the paper, mix up more glue and dap on another coat on top of the tissue paper, be carefull as the paper will tear so easy, only dap on the glue useing a full brush full, lay flat till dry. if I was useing the paint extender with craft paints, I would spray on a sealer frist before adding the tissue paper, I do all the steps on one side so the other can be cleaned. on the one pictured I did the paint pattern on the other side, fliped it over and started painting LOL! oddie

I need to seal them, but I'm not sure with what. It is gallery glass. Not sure how exactly to solve that problem yet, but that's half the fun! My first attempt to attach a chain without drilling didn't go well, so that's another hurdle...it'll get there!

I never tried the faux stained glass but it sure looks like fun! I hope it ends up working out for you in the garden. Lots of colorful and fun designs. I like your "plant" bed too. It's a nice funky blue. It goes well with your cool tie dye ladder. Keep us posted on how well the faux stained glass holds up.

Those are really cute, I like the funky retro feel they have. I did alot of gallery glass years ago. I only have one piece left. They will fade to clear in no time, given the least little bit of sun. So I suggest a real shady place. Great job, I like the patriotic ones.

there's some fun stuff out in the garden.
I had a desk just like that one out there, in later years of grade school.
the first ones we had were the kind the top wouldn't lift up.
they had legs more like a treadle sewing machine table..lol
with fancy black cast iron legs...geez, I'm aged.
