It's the "berry" (technically, I believe it's a soft, fleshy cone of sorts, since the plant is a gymnosperm) of a Yew. It's definitely toxic, NOT EDIBLE.

Strictly speaking the red part is edible but all other parts of the tree are highly toxic, so, unless you are literally starving I would leave them strictly alone.
