Codling moth and footies

Hi all-

haven't posted in a while but had a question. I was away for a week, got back yesterday to see that a large percentage of my apples were infested with coddling moth. I was very disappointed as I put footies on a large percentage of my apples. I could see the holes where the larvae bit right through the footies.

Has anyone had success with the footies in terms of preventing coddling moth? I'm assuming the baggies might work but those seem like a lot more work than the footies and I am concerned about fungal diseases with these.

Also, I've only got a dozen trees, so for next year I'm considering using pheromone traps to capture the adults. Has anyone tried these?

Thanks
