A melon miracle!

I planted 9 melon plants--some seedless, some seeded--in a 4x8 box. Yes, I know. I left them all there, just to see what would happen.

What happened: sweet, sweet melons. So far, one seeded, and one seedless. There are several more.

The only reason I know they're ripe: I looked down, and the seeded one was cracked open. I thought it would be spoiled, but it wasn't. So then I cut open a seedless melon--just as pink, ripe, and juicy.

I won't ever put that many melon plants in a small raised bed again, though.
