Can anyone recommend a vegetable design software program for a hobby farmer/home gardener? I'm looking for an easy to use program that will let you layout the garden design and track the growth and progress of different vegetable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'd like to design asparacorn, zucchini that don't turn into marrows overnight and basil that improves after a frost, among many others.

It depends on what you want the software to do. Personally, what I was looking for was something that could fairly easily do 2-D scaled layouts. That is out there. The fancy-pants landscaping simulating software is a different beast, and is going to be $$$$.

I urge everyone to avoid Intuit Quickbooks like the plague. They paid an employee a bonus 4 times instead of once which got me in trouble with the IRS. They said they would pay the IRS and reneged. They gave me a lousy $300.00 credit for taking 10 hours of my bookeeper's time.

So looking at your site, are you trying to do more of the bespoke container gardens and small city gardens? The work you're showcasing is of such a small and intimate scale that I would worry about the technology getting between you and your clients. You're selling your knowledge and your vision, I would start there as you consider how you structure your presentations. I love this part of the business, feel free to reach out if you want a sounding board.

I would like to design a few vegetables myself. Winter tomatoes and winter peppers would be the first on the list, lol. I don't believe any such software exists tho. Garden design is a different story.
