Should I prune these 1st Year Nectarines?

Eastern PA - I've spent alot of time quizzing, reading and preparing for next spring's apple central leader pruning on the 10 whips I planted in April and feel ready come next March. However, now I started reading up on open center peach pruning and the info I have from the Penn State Coop Ext and other resources are making me feel like by the end of this summer I should have my future scaffolds chosen and start chopping these babies now. Anyone agree with this or should I wait until late dormancy?

Here are a couple pics of the 6 Sunglo nectarine whips I planted in April. They seem to like their home even though they've had to fight through the heat and fungus.
