As only leaving Win98 18 months ago, kicking and screaming I admit, my position is it shouldn't matter R vs RW. I would recommend that she open My Computer and see if the drive is recognizing the disk. Unless you named the disk it should read as a series of numbers rather than the drive letter identifier. If the disk is recognized have her double click on it, or right click and select open on the appearing drop down menu. I do have one other thought. Your WMP version may be so more ahead than hers, she might not have the technical ability to open the files. You might have to redo the disk with perhaps Irfanview and ask her to install it on her system too. Irfanview worked fine on my old Win98 and still does on the one out in the garage. Plus, to avoid the possiblity use a CD-R if you do. DA

The CD-RW can be reused, the CD-R cannot. If anything goes wrong with the recording process while using the CD-R, the disc might have to be discarded-it may or may not be good for anything else. On the other hand, the CD-RW may not be the best choice if your goal is to maintain the quality of the recording for a very long time...especially if you have to rewrite the disc several times. There are differing opinions on this. I wouldn't try to use DVDs unless this player specifically states that this process will support DVD. Also, if the goal is to play these in your car I'd try 2 or 3 CDs (not DVD) as a test first. Many auto CD players are finicky about playing home-burned discs.

These are all just store bought CD's, no cd's that have been burned. It does also play the SA-CD's, MP3's, etc, I have none of those. There is no button on the player to reverse. Like I said I haven't used the remote yet, there might be one on there. That's no big thing. I just didn't know why it takes so long to "read" and why it doesn't just play right away, like on my portable and in the car.I really don't like that waiting for 2-3 minutes before it starts to play after you put it in. It is worth it though, because my CD's sound better than they ever did. This thing has wonderful sound. I want to buy some SA-Cd's. Thanks!

My mother had a number of CDs that had POD on them. We were able to cash them in within a very short period of time. You had to have the death certificate, but the money was available within a week or 10 days after the death, if I recall correctly. The POD certificates are NOT considered part of the estate, so don't go through probate. If you're the executor, you'll just give each recipient their CD and a copy of the death certificate. Then each will go to the bank, and will be able--after supplying appropriate ID and signing the necessary tax documents--to cash the certificates themselves. As my mother's executrix, I did go to the bank with each of my siblings, just to make sure everything went smoothely for them (it was the same bank I used, where I knew everyone), but my presence really wasn't necessary. I'm sorry for your loss--I know at this time, you end up having a lot of questions, and wondering where to get answers. I think with the CD's, I went to the bank, first, and asked all the questions, so I knew what to tell my siblings--but honestly, a lot of that time is a bit of a blur to me.
