I had a visitor who wanted to see my garden. She brought her three girls 10 and up. The girls frolicked,they were excited at my mosaics,My containers, my sea shells,my herbs,my mass plantings,,, they even begged their mom to buy our house and they did not even go inside(not that it's for sale)
She was quiet the entire time. The only compliment I got was on my big purple delphinium.
I think she was in shock or something.

I agree Luna...seems a lot more is being said about "repurposing" lately. I think some of has to do with the "green" movement and some has to do with the economy. People are just beginning to realize what we junkers have known for years...why buy new, when you can redo? And we junkers are becoming the latest "chic" idea I think. It's kinda like wallpaper....it went out of style a few years back, but recently, I've seen it in all of my home magazines again! Too funny...guess I'm ahead of that game too...since I never removed mine in the first place! ;-)

I started making and selling those teacup birdfeeders 7 years ago and they weren't new then! LOL Altho I sold them as tealight holders as they are less than useless when filled with birdseed and it rains. Not so bad as tealight holders but still need cleaning occasionally.

I'm sure a lot of the "professionals" search the net for good ideas. Let's face it, there really is nothing new! Or if there is, I'd love to see it so I can copy it! haha

I think it was Lowe's ad Sun. that had an adorable "multicolored" bottle bug-well, I'm so speedy today I already put the papers in the trash. I had only read Rite-Aid & Lowe's (?sp) so I planned on saving it can't believe I tossed it. Trash guy comes early,like 7 oh well, not worth another headache to go try & find it. So they make them in China now, bet they don't have as much fun as we do!! Jan

I don't remember who it is here had a great idea for the teacup feeders ... they put a piece of window screen in the bottom to keep the birdseed from floating in the water. I also liked someone else's idea of putting the teacups on a bud vase so that it could be easily removed from its perch to be cleaned.

I was surprised too at the Mitchell Park Domes here in Milwaukee they had this old planted boot in the desert dome. Apparently they have been checking out garden junk too!
