Melting aluminum in coffee can foundry to make garden 'art'

It is pretty easy to melt metals like aluminum and copper at home with a simple foundry. Aside from a few safety tools I need some ideas for garden knick knacks to make.

I have a ton of aluminum cans so was considering sand casting some various shells in aluminum for a hanging mobile. Maybe some cast aluminum tiles or ingots (for circular ingots you pour the metal into old muffin pans and allow to cool) for a boarder or walk way.

Any ideas for interesting molds that can be found for cheap?

Please give more suggestions for what to make with molten metal!
