My new GJ treasure!

Ok, my DH took me along with him on stroll through an old junk yard this week, and look what caught my eye!

The first picture was taken where I first saw it sitting in the junk yard - the second was taken where it's now sitting in my garden!

It had lost it's back tires, but I found an old baby carriage frame laying near by with three tires still attached, so I pulled off 2 tires to put on the back of the bike. Just like new!

This is the way I like to start out my summer gardening, with a great new piece of garden art - that was free!

Thank you all for your sweet comments! The green mushrooms are vases and dinner bowls from DT. I Made the brown ones from DT items too, they are vases for the base and flower pots for the top. Garden momma is a collective throw-together of GW and DT and a lot of silliness! I found the nests and birds at Walmart some time ago but didn't have a project for them. I remembered I had them while digging for the raffia. The keys on the mushroom and garden mamma's bling necklace came from my dad and my younger brothers',(who passed away last year), car business. It was just an added touch for my mom and SIL. They were a lot of fun to make, glad you all liked them! blessings-sherri

I am curious about the iris called Ray Dale Kerr - Kerr 2008. I saw one almost identical to it on Sutton's Iris web site. They call it Rim of Fire (rebloomer)...very expensive and state they are the hybridizer. They have an extensive site. May I ask where you found yours? I am new to this forum, so if I should not have asked where you round Ray Dale Kerr, I apologize. Sutton's is closed to buying, but you can peruse their online collection.

Karen, the GW stores here are .49c ea for dishes and glassware. Seniors can get a 15% discount anyday and 25% on Mon. They do have 2 of the 50% Sat/month, but I am usually playing golf then. Some of their other prices can be high, so it just requires careful selection when shopping. Jane, I am so excited about her arrival, so will be a very proud Grandma showing her off!! Luvs, I have dishes in cabinets in my sunroom, garage, dining room, and of course, most are in the basement. I do have to keep rearranging to make more room, but I can't help myself when I find dishes for less than 50c ea that are so pretty. In fact, I just got some lovely lavender side plates and matching cream and sugar at GW Mon. so they were .37c ea! Kath, Deal!! A basket of flowers is a great idea!

I have wire baskets too - somewhere...

I have a couple of old vintage egg baskets, and another old wire basket that I think might have actually been a bicycle basket. I will be out in the shed this week hunting them down.

Of course I am getting a little ahead of myself. I live at 7000 ft. up in the Colorado Rockies. I cleaned out the beds this week, but it will be another 3 weeks before I can safely plant here - but it's good to have a plan!

Bright - A friend of my husband owns the place. There are a lot of old cars out there and my DH was going out to look at some that he's interested in, so I went along. I never could pass up a good junk yard!

There is probably 10 acres of old cars and cast off's out there, and I have my eye on a few more things. The owner is going to start cleaning up out there - so I offered to help by taking some of that old junk off his hands!

twomonths - I found the basket I was looking for today, and I believe it was an old basket that was used on the handlebars of a bike, so that is probably how I will hang it on the bike.

I do remember seeing an old bicycle seat laying out there though. I'm not sure it belonged on this bike, but if it's the right size I will bring it home. I will look at it again when I go back out. It was all rusty and will fit the picture quite well!

OMG, that is an awesome find, I am green with envy too!!! It's old, it's rusty, it's an antique, and it's perfect, what more could you ask for. You did a great job on the back wheels. Can hardly wait to see it with the flower basket, it's going to look so beautiful.
