All pretty! I'm a sucker for teapots so I love your blue and yellow teapot totem (love that color combination too). The angel sitting on that tealight holder fits just perfectly. And your plate flower has some unusual pieces and colors. Great job!

Good morning! I too try to visualize people and it rarely, if ever, works out. it is nice to put faces to names. Shirley, still thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. i know that's your daughter, brittney and dawson -- who are the others (inquiring nosey minds want to know) and as for your mom, you never know what the next roommate may be, perhaps you can hold off on the move until you see what comes in LOL, however, I think I'd want to be with my own and her secrets kept!!!! annie your dogs are beautiful, as are you. my aunt and uncle, for as long as i can remember, were the first home for service dogs until they were ready to go into training. they had several different dogs from what i recall. sorry about your lizzie...i know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. my next dog is going to be a shepherd, but it's been decided that we will only have one dog at a time now, so I have to wait my turn. (we'll see) i made an anniversary cake for a group i belong to, it was our 7 year anniversary so i made this massive cake. i filled it with alternating layers of buttercream and lemon curd, and dang, if it was not tasty. I was able to take a slice home for the family to taste and seriously wish there had been more leftover, would have made a nice breakfast!!!! a real nice combination, even though it started out that i was going to use raspberry as well...i just couldn't get enough to cook them down to make a nice sauce/filling. it's still so cold and seems to be staying that way until at least next week, when it's supposed to go to the high 40's, with rain. by then, i'll think it's summer. this cold is bone chilling and of course, they are calling for more snow. we haven't got much of it, but.....this year it is bothering me like mad! i shouldn't complain, there are parts of the country that are in the negatives, so i'll just keep my mouth shut on this subject any further! so whose left to post their pic? come out. come out whereever you are! speaking of which, jeanne, how are those triplets of late? is mary ellen still a part of this group? i feel like i haven't seen her in a long time...maybe since she became a grandmom, or right before that? hae a nice thursday! maryanne

What is the pickle castor sitting on? Is that a box label? It looks like if it is in good shape, it would be nice item for your booth, even if it is a reproduction, the colors are great! Nice decorator piece! I went back & looked at everything on this post trying to see if I saw anything that would go with the castor. It is not a bottle you are looking for. The pickles would have been home canned & packed in canning jar & then taken out & put in the pickle castor for company so the glass jar would be pretty nice & attractive as ladies were proud of their pickles. They pickled cucumbers, carrots, watermelon(delicious) & sometimes other veggies.Onions & green string beans were sometimes included. When I was growing up they were always served with lunch & dinner(supper- in So. Dak.) I didn't get my aunt's recipes, wish I had as I tried many watermelon pickle recipes, not good like her's.

Hi Lara...I'm back too, now that the board's free...a super easy craft is embellished burp cloths. Buy the PREFOLDED cloth diapers. Buy 1 yard of ribbon per diaper. Sew the ribbon across the (short) bottom & top of the diaper. You're done! Instead of ribbon, I've also seen people add maybe a 2"-2.5" piece of fabric to one end. I've never done this, but I'm assuming you fold the fabric over so the front & back are both finished. To carry it further, (and make the end product worth more $), you could cover the entire back in teh same fabric. Hmmm. is that clear as mud?

Just lovely Laura! And what is it with these husbands who ask their wives to give up something they love doing?? Don't understand that....I guess I'm just spoiled by a DH who helps fuel my junk collecting flame.

Humph! Hubby wants you to quit your hobby. What hobby is he going to give up?? Sorry some men just P--s me off. Laura you items are beautiful. I have two sheds full of glassware, junk, etc. plus more then a few items in the garage/hubby's workshop. He wouldn't dare tell me to quit! I'd skin him alive..........LOL and he knows it!!

Actually he is getting to be as good a junk collector as me. I have trained him well............ :)

I'm with Chelcass, the minute my DH tells me that I have to quit junkin'...I'll tell him he has to give up online gaming with his buddies! Not gonna happen...LOL

Hope everyone is having a great weekend...I know I sure am. Mom is getting better everyday and I scored some great finds at an estate sale yesterday. Will posts pics later.

Thanks all. I was ready to give it up a few months ago, too, because I was having to tiptoe through the glassware to get to my file cabinet when I was gluing like crazy getting ready for a craft show. The mess was even driving me crazy. I don't think I'll do any more craft shows (well, maybe one this spring) because it's getting to be too much for an old lady like me. I've bought a few more pieces of glassware lately to go with what I already have. I probably won't give it up completely. I want to maybe do more wall flowers. Depends what sells.

I also hope to make some cast leaves and mushrooms. Something a little smaller than the totems and birdbaths. Things that I can store outside....like on the bottom shelf of my potting shed. That will make DH happy. And hope to get into some other type of crafts, like altered art.

Good for you, laura! These are beautiful & I say, you go with what you love to do...Never too old! I'm also a fan of "altered art" ...love doing tags into bookmarks/use old photos...boxes, etc....so have fun w/that, too!
