Billy Rae, I've been buying plants from Accents for years..I'd say 98% of their plants arrive in healty condition, and good size.
In another thread, someone mentioned they had problems w/this company..
The only negative thing I have to say about Accents is timing..they take 1-2 wks to ship out plants..but in my case, it was worth the wait.
Which plants are you thinking of getting?
The only 2 plants I ordered from them that were smaller than expected were a hoya and scented geranium..in fact, the geranium died, but the hoya's still going strong, still small. Toni

Well, I was thinking of ordering a couple hoyas, but after what you said about the hoya being small, I don't know. Was the shipping high do you remember for a couple of plants form there?

I have bought a few hoyas off ebay, but only bid on the ones they show is the "actual plant" not a picture of a plant the seller says is "similar" to the one you will get.
I always get a nice decent size that way, but the shipping is going wayyyy up. I think the sellers anymore want you to pay for their gas, a soda, and maybe a pack of cigs on their way to the PO, lol.

LOL...the hoya I got from Accents has 3 stems, about 8-10" long..It's an H. cumingiona..don't think spelling is right, but I'm sure you know which I mean..
Do you ever order from Kartuz? I purchased a couple Hoyas from them last year..One is an H. densifolia..it's about 7", 1 stem, and doing poorly..I wonder if it was even rooted..Now that I looked at it, I'm thinking it's time to unpot, check roots and probably set in a smaller container..the other I ordered from Kartuz is much better looking..it has 4 stems, at least 12" long..I really will misspell this one, it's something like H. nicholionae..lol..Kartuz charges a lot more than Accents though, it's been a while since I've been on their site.. doubt they've decreased costs..lol..
Shipping from Accents..I planned on ordering 6 plants from them, and shipping came to 12 and change..That was for 6 4" potted plants. This was recent, Billy.
You know, you can always select plants, and they'll total it up..if you're not happy w/shipping, or change your mind about a plant, you can delete. Even after clicking pay or whatever is written..they have to send you a confirmation email before you make a payment..So, if you decide you don't want something, (before the email) just delete plant, or if you decide you don't want any plants, disregard email.
I was hoping they had the Shooting Star Hoya..mine died last winter. I miss Mellingers..they had some nice plants at decent prices.

The size you received for the hoya I don't think is small at all, lol. I thought maybe you were sent something like one 5" cutting!
On ebay there are plenty hoyas/plants that are small, I mean like three leaves and 3" tall small and dreadful looking to boot!

It's funny how some hoyas will grow great, like weeds, and propagating those are so easy, then you have others that just won't grow right and then trying to get cuttings to root from others is a nightmare!

The shipping at Accent's isn't bad at all, especially for all the plants you ordered. You can pay that much for one plant at some places.

I had ordered an H. kerrii and H. multiflora (shooting star) from Mellinger's a few years back and they were decent sizes and prices. They had a lot of nice plants, indoors and out! Too bad they went out of bussiness!

That's good to know about totaling the amount up and changing your mind if you want to when ordering, then your not obligated and locked into anything.

Sorry about your shooting star,It's such a nice hoya, the flowers are so unusual! Sadly, mine died too last year (soooo sad) and I want another one.
It bloomed almost all of time. They are the one hoya that likes to be a little moist all the time and I think mine dried out too much, or too many times.

Anyway, I think I will order from Accent's. I really want the H. Imperalis & H. cumingiana. Had "cumingiana" before but it dried up on me a couple weeks after getting it, no bugs, kept it like the others, so I'm not sure what happened!

I read an old post you had posted in and you said you lost your yellow crown of thorns? Did you get another one? I have one for you if you'd like It would be (un-rooted) because I would cut it if you wanted it. It's a tall stem of the main plant, a couple feet or so, (more tall than bushy) that just shot up and it's almost into a hanging plant above it. It's yours if you want it, I don't want anything in return. (no trade necessary lol). Just let me know ok?

Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression..I was comparing one plant to another..which as I mentioned, the one Hoya was much larger than the other, plus more stems..
A 3" plant isn't worth selling, my opinion..I don't mind buying baby plants, but 3" or even 4" is small..especially when it's slow-growing..Do you consider Hoyas fast or slow growing?
If you decide to order from Accents, which sounds like you are, lol, please post pics of hoyas when you get them.
Yep, if you're not happy w/shipping costs, just disregard confirmation email..Are you planning on ordering 2 plants or more?
Actually, I think they're shipping is resonable, compared to some other nurseries..

Oh boy, I lost 2 COT's last year..and one this year..The yellow flowered was a cutting (w/o roots) some girl sent..the second was a favorite..the Thai I got from a local nursery..we had too much rain last summer, so the poor thing drowned..I can kick myself for not bringing it indoors..The one I got this yr was from, well, I can't say, lol, but the person sent 2 variegated cuttings..she only charged shipping since they were in bad condition..One died, but so far the other is doing okay..I hope the variegated makes it, since they're rare and places that sell them want a small fortune.

I plan on ordering the two hoyas I mentioned for now. Did you say you had H. cumingiana? If so, is it in your GH, or inside the house. I want one, but at the same time I just hate to get one and lose it within a matter of a couple of weeks!

I don't consider hoyas fast growing at all, especally the kerrii, one I won't get again if it ever dies. The carnosa types seem to grow faster.

I'll bet your variegated one is really beautiful! Do you want the whole 2 ft sent? Or maybe I should cut the COT in half and send, you'll need to root it anyway so it can;t be that tall, plus, not sure I have anything that long to send it in, lol.
