link below says full sun outdoors .. 2 hours indoors [from the weak sunned east] is not even close ... so at a minimum.. supplemental light would be requisite ... then.. if you have a forced air furnace.. humidity would be another issue ... then soil/potting media ... such for trees needs to be faster draining .... which some peat mixes are not ... and then if you get past all that.. the fact that it can grow 15+ feet ... should you try.. sure.. why not... what are you going to lose??? 25$ good luck ken Here is a link that might be useful: pdf file

I have a lot of wood sorrel (oxalis oregona), which I think the original poster has realized she has too. I have decided to let mine alone in one spot as it's in a bed I prefer to be easy care and is doing well with some skimmia and ferns. It's also contained by hardscape. I'm working to get it out of another bed where it is threatening to take over some heuchera and alchemilla. I would say be careful around plants you want to keep. I don't find it very easy to weed out as it has an incredible mass of spreading mat-like roots and every bit you leave behind grows again. It quickly out-competed some young japanese forest grass I had and even ajuga! In my experience, you can't really just pull it out -- you have to dig around to get the rootlets which can be a pain, depending on what else you have planted. It loves my rainy, cool climate. They planted quite a lot in the ravine next to me, trying to reestablish more native plantings and it has out-competed the native bleeding heart and a few other more delicate plantings. Only put it somewhere where you can be on top of maintenance a lot. I have a deciduous variety, but there is also an evergreen version (at least for my zone).

Okay, the excitement is mounting... :-) I have 4 containers that need flowering plans so I will be looking for advice on those... 2 in direct sun and 2 shaded in am and sun in pm. Also looking for something for along a section of fence that is shaded in am and part sun pm. Is anyone bringing any variety of Day Lilly other than orange?? I have bagged up fern, chives, lilac... This is my first year owning a home and I plan on having LOTS more to share by next year!! I am SOOooo happy to have been told about ths group!! Thank you again, Dawiff!!!! It is kind of a similar theme and even sounds a bit naughty, eh? BTW - when those table lights came out that were supposed to turn on/off when someone touched the plant growing in the attached pot, my neighbor bought one. She claimed that I was the only person to get the thing to work. I noticed that the light, pot & plant disappeared only a few days after I performed my amazing stunt . . .
