I would love to hear about any plans you have to sell your garden art at fairs, flea markets, shows, occasional shops, etc.

What's hot and what's not in your area? Any new trends or unique ideas?

I am selling garden flowers made from glass dishes. I do it at a small sale 2x a year. They sell well. I price them mainly to cover my costs.

Very pretty!

Please forgive my multitude of questions. What technique do you use? Do you glue or drill? Do you include the stakes? Where are you located and can I be additionally nosy and ask how much you charge? If you don't want to disclose that's okay.

Phil, I LOVE LOVE LOVE those Mushrooms! I'm taking a pottery class and tonight is our last night to make stuff from clay, and next week we'll glaze whatever is left over. I think I might try and make some of those mushrooms tonight. I made some like the attachment, with the narrower stem, but I like the fatter stem, like yours. Do they have any sort of metal stake in them to keep them from tipping over?

My husband wanted to put up this ugly reproduction of a horse race painting that he found at a garage sale, I told him "give me a week, I'll find something better online!" I wanted a modern look, some realisitc photography, but I didn't want black and white because we have so many b&w prints in the house already. I finally bought a color print of a park scene (some park in NYC, I'm not sure which) at a web site called Brooklyn Prints. Every mantle is different, of course; I had just enough space to put up a 16x20 print in a wood frame. Our fireplace is for decoration only, so we didn't have to worry about heat damage to the frame or the print, but it is something to think about too. I have been spending my pennies at yard sales and estate sales to add to my garden and come home with some treasures! I almost feel the need to stop , almost! Haha i picked up this swan this weekend . Here's the rest of my treasure . It's not all where I want it but I'll be working on that soon Gonna be a petunia planter .. Flea market gold ! Got this feeder , it will go on top of a rickety wood ladder and support my honeysuckle vine .

I tried to post and found all my air-dropped files were in a format that would not post. Will have to find time to redo them. But my art is so different -- some "fine" and a lot of contemporary and folk art. This was the only one that worked and I took it down towait, but in case I don't make it back (I am behind on an 8 week course and trying to get caught up) -- this will be my one contribution. This is titled Angels from Above and was painted in response to the attack on 9/11. It hangs in my LR where I have an Americana folk piece, a new still life that may not have found its permanent home and some other contemporary art. It's an eclectic grouping with the link being rich saturated colors. The sofa is midnight velvet and the chairs are natural linen, both treated as neutrals. The background is an inset above the mantle that was painted for another painting when this was in DR. It isn't terrible with the painting, but were painted the walls and now I want to pick a new color for the inset and different painting.

I've been selling on the internet, but not allowed to say where. I was chastised for that some time ago. They sell for $30 - $34 without the stakes....more than they sell for locally. Can't do the craft shows anymore. Just too hard on this old body. Good to see you back, Max.

I drill. I include the copper stakes. Majority are 20 - 30. Occasionally higher. The big blue in the front was 40 because I will never find that dish again. Again - I try to cover the cost - nothing more. It is a free hobby. I would rather sell stuff and have reason to make more. I sold about 40 of them in the last year in NE ohio.

I did sell at me garden club sale for a couple of years, but attendance was poor and the stopped having the show.
I would like to do a 'home' show, but can't seem to get organized enough. That's because I have more 'junk' than things put together to be saleable, and no place for the finished things---LOL
You can't walk through my storage buildings except sideways, and carefully!

HI Max and everyone else- I agree, I miss the old days (other posting) but I'm still selling too-
Laura- curious- why were you chastised for stating where you sell? Self promoting? 'sigh'-

I sell at two local craft malls now, one flea market, and my front yard. I can't seem to wrap my mind around the shipping of a flower-
but I am trying some smaller sized plates (drying right now!) so I may try that-
I don't make a lot of money on them, either. I'd rather find the joy of making them, making some money to go shopping for more glass!
I drill the glass, use copper pipe and GE II.

There are more glass plate flowers surfacing in this area, so I'm trying to create my own look-
