I assume that the reason the tags on each blueberry variety list suitable pollinators is because those suitable pollinating varieties will flower at about the same time as the plant with the tag, therefore ensuring that pollination will occur between all those varieties.
But..... Although there are different families of blueberries(Highbush, Lowbush, Rabbiteye), they are still all blueberries, so I was wondering whether Highbush will pollinate Rabbiteyes if they bloom together at the same time?
I'd like to try a "Pink Lemonade blueberry" plant, but all I have now are Rabbiteyes with which to pollinate it, and I dont want to have to go out and buy/grow more Highbush. I switched to Rabbiteyes for a reason.
Thanks
