Does anyone's corn look like this? LOL

When this ad popped up while my baseball fanatic husband was watching TV my eyes locked onto the weird corn plants in the field. He couldn't believe I was upset by the "corn" plants when I could be focusing on the baseball legends. Looks like the set designers put in a massive order with the houseplant people for corn dracaena.

Are there any ads with weird veggie plants that have you focusing on the plants instead of the intended advertising product?

I just finished reading Shoeless Joe, so I enjoyed the commercial. NOW I'll obsess on the "corn" , though! Thanks a LOT! LOLOL

'the only thing that pisses me off more.. is when they spit it out .. but no!!!!! .. not stop with one untasty bite...but continue to girdle the plant.. and spit it all out .' I am sorry that got me to laughing out loud, Ken. The very same thoughts have occurred to me many times. Two springs ago, I had started numerous Montauk Daisy to plant in those beds where nothing else does well, and a few weeks later there were a dozen or two of them, severed at the soil line and laying on their side with some gnawed stem. Ditto mass plantings of spreading petunias. Puts me in mind of the sign over the line at Mess Halls. Take ALL YOU WANT............but eat all you take. At least the devastation serves some purpose. Sorry about your Dawn redwood. Shame, but YOU KNOW BETTER. ;-)

I dreamed for years regarding my strawberry plant crawling into my window, it was sending out runners, I now have French Strawberry plants. Okay Jo Jo if you want send the picture with the seed and plant to me directly to my email address. I will ask John Trager, Now I really want to know. Guessing doesn't count. Tell him where it was found, in what state and city you purchasedi, and Nursery. I can't wait to find out. It not growing like a vine to me, it is growing too straight.The leaves do remind me a plants that I do have, and I just saw the seeds for the first time Mon. so perhaps? Norma He's pretty good at this an very accurate.

Agree with MTN. I've seen a full sized sample of this tile in the store, and it looked the same as the online picture (but sparkly), but they're often more careful to get the full range of colors in the sample than the correct distribution. I ordered my glass mosaic based on the samples and ended up with all the same colors but many more mediums than lights and darks. Since I was using them individually, I also handled every tile sheet by sheet as I was separating them. Just from box to box the distribution on the sheets was different, so I think, for mine, at least, each batch is a bit different, and it's probably a pretty random process which tile lands where.

The finish on the wood is moisture and stain resistant, most likely a catalyzed finish. It cleans relatively easy with soap and a damp sponge or rag. The finish should not stain from basic food or waste, however artificial dark colorants can stain almost any wood finish if allowed to sit around long enough. The trash cans themselves can be easily removed from the holder due to their tapered shape. So removal should not be an issue. If you ever need to replace the cans due to staining or breakage, you can find online retailers that sell replacements. You can usually find the can info on the can bottom (capacity, size etc.). Another suggestion I would make is to explore some of the pull-out trash offerings from Rev-A-Shelf. They offer some trash unit with aluminum frames that will not stain and are easier to clean that wood. No rot or rust concerns either.

A couple of years ago, Campbell's had a tomato seed giveaway. The web site had animated tomato plants which grew vertically by stretching the bottom portion of the plant (never any new leaves or foliage at the top of the stems).

I have mercifully forgotten what unnatural characteristics the animated fruit had. They grew singly rather than in clusters, but there was something else ... yes: they hung from the leaf-stems.

Apparently no one at Campbell's or their ad agency had ever seen an actual tomato plant, or even knew where to look for photos. Or, come to think of it, had any idea how any plants or trees grow.

The last I'd heard, no one's free seeds had sprouted. Someone suggested that having been shipped without any padding, the seeds had been crushed by postal machinery.

There was a commercial for a brand of Salsa a few years ago, I think Pace, that talked about their special Jalapenos, how they were custom bred and grown just for them. Except in the commercial, they showed not a Jalapeno, but an Anaheim type chili pepper.

This kind of subtle trickery is all too common, IMHO, because most people don't know the difference.
